We are incredibly excited to officially announce our team of 2025 Servus Calgary Marathon Ambassadors!

These ambassadors were selected because of their passion for movement, dedication to the Calgary running community, and enthusiasm to inspire others. We can’t wait to see what this group gets up to over the next 5 months as we approach the 2025 Servus Calgary Marathon Race Weekend!

Without further ado, introducing our 2025 Ambassadors (in alphabetical order):

Amber has lived in Calgary for 22 years, is married with one daughter and two mini wiener dogs. Amber works from her home studio designing and selling party decorations for her Etsy shop, Dixie + Twine. Amber started running right before her 40th birthday during the pandemic. She was absolutely not a runner before, but decided she needed something to get her out of the house, blow off steam and keep her anxiety in check. She dubbed them her “rage runners”. Amber was also motivated to show her daughter that we can do hard things even when it’s way out of our comfort zone. When Amber ran her first half marathon at the 2022 Servus Calgary Marathon, her daughter was out there cheering her on at the finish line. This year, Amber will be running the half marathon again and trying to PR with a time of 2:05.

Carrie is from Muskowekwan First Nation, Saskatchewan. She has been running for over 20 years and completed well over 50 marathons and ultra-marathons. In 2023, she completed the World Marathon Majors and earned her Six Star Medal at the Tokyo Marathon. Carrie has run trail races ranging from 50 km to 100 miles and was a finisher at Ironman Canada. Carrie is a Kokum (grandmother) in her sixties and has no plans to hang up her running shoes anytime soon. Her goal is to promote health & fitness in the Indigenous community and to celebrate Indigenous resilience through running!

Chris was born missing arms and legs and uses a longboard/skateboard as his primary mobility aid. In 2016, the Calgary Marathon was the first race to allow him to use his longboard to complete a marathon, and it appears as though that created a monster. Chris has been hooked ever since, using marathons as a great excuse to push himself, stay in shape and travel. Chris has now completed 19 marathons, in 7 countries on 4 continents. His goal is to complete as many marathon as possible in as many countries as possible with the hopes of encouraging others, able bodied or otherwise, to step outside their comfort zone and push themselves to achieve more.

Felipe describes himself as a regular guy, with a full time business, a family and responsibilities, who enjoys running and the challenge that comes with it. He believes staying healthy is the best mental and overall health hack we can find. Felipe’s goal is to inspire others and lead by example, emphasizing that we should always find the time to take care of ourselves, bodies and mind through exercise, even though there are times where it can be more difficult than others. Felipe is back in his second year as a Servus Calgary Marathon Ambassador, and is looking forward to tackling the half marathon in May and achieving a new PB.

Trenten and Sean are co-founders of the 2mro app and 2mro Run Club. 2mro empowers users to set, share, and achieve personal goals with the support of friends, accountability features, and milestone tracking, transforming aspirations into achievements.

Sean started running in 2024 shortly before the Servus Calgary Marathon, and ended up running the full marathon with minimal training (not always recommended haha). He continued to run with the 2mro Run Club throughout the summer and into the winter. Sean’s next goal is to run a sub 4 hour marathon. He has set his 6 month milestone on the 2mro app, and is ready to start training!

Trenten is going on his second year of running and is also chasing after a sub 4 hour marathon (only because of how bad at it he claims he is). Trenten is committed to staying accountable through the 2mro app and crushing his running goals.

As a longtime member of the Run Calgary community and Crew Lead for YYCRunCrew, Vicky believes that running connects us to others in meaningful ways. While we can choose to run alone, sharing your own journey within the running community transforms the experience into something bigger—a bond, a memory built together, an avenue to create and give back locally. As Vicky approaches her 10th anniversary of long-distance running in 2025, she reflects on how this sport has shaped her into who she is today. It all began with her first 5 km in 2015, building up to running her first half-marathon in May 2015 at the Calgary Marathon. Vicky hopes that through running and fitness, she has the chance to continue to create a welcoming space for everyone to come together and to enjoy moments of movement and personal growth.
