Servus Charity Challenge Spotlight: Hull Services

Calgary MarathonCharity Leave a Comment

Since 2012, the Servus Charity Challenge has raised more than $10 million dollars for local charities here in Calgary. This year, we are on track to support over 110 local charities, making a lasting impact across Calgary and beyond. These funds play a vital role in strengthening neighborhoods and supporting organizations that make a real difference in people’s lives.

Among the charities benefiting from this initiative is Servus Credit Union member, Hull Services, who are raising funds in the 2026 Servus Charity Challenge. Hull Services is a Calgary-based leader in child, youth, and family mental health, providing evidence‑based programs and supports that help children and families heal, build resilience, and thrive. Grounded in science, culture, and human connection, Hull offers a wide range of services for those facing complex mental health, behavioural, and developmental challenges.

Learn more about the important work Hull Services is doing and how your participation in the Servus Charity Challenge can help create positive change in our community.

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about the services you provide?

Hull Services is a leader in child and youth mental health and home to Canada’s largest campus for youth mental health and healing. Hull is a place where healing happens, not only through evidence-based care and human connection, but through the belief that every child and family deserves to thrive. Hull Services provides 28 programs and services to over 8,100 youth and families each year and has been a pillar in the Calgary community for over 60 years.

Q: How long has Hull Services been participating in the Charity Challenge with Servus Calgary Marathon?

This is the first year for Hull Services participating in the Charity Challenge with Servus Calgary Marathon. As someone who is deeply connected with the Calgary running scene (I’ve run the 50k ultra, half marathon, and 10K), I thought this was a good opportunity to get Hull Services into the Charity Challenge. As a runner of close to 10 years, and working for a mental health organization, I have had the privilege of seeing how connected physical and mental health is, and how it’s important to have healthy avenues and supports for both.

Q: How much have you raised via the Charity Challenge?

As of now, we have raised a little over $500, with plans to continue sharing and encouraging others in our networks to donate.

Q: How are funds used that are raised via the Charity Challenge?

Funds raised for Hull Services through the Charity Challenge help strengthen the areas of our work where the need is greatest—so we can continue showing up for children, youth, and families when it matters most.

Q: How long have you been a member with Servus?

Hull Services has been a member of Servus Credit Union since 2014, and Servus has been a longtime supporter of Hull Services, supporting our annual longstanding community Stampede Breakfast since 2010.

Q: Servus strives for its members to gain financial fitness. As an extension, our partnership with the marathon encourages participants to achieve mental, physical, and financial fitness. How do you see Hull Services achieving those goals?

Hull’s mission is to support young people and their families to help build resilience today for a brighter tomorrow. As an Agency that supports over 8,000 people each year, we see the direct impact that having mental health supports in place does for someone. Physical and mental health have direct connections, and by providing youth the opportunity to recreate and play has tremendous effects for them. And with trauma-informed care at the root of our care delivery, we are able to provide a wide variety of supports to all of our programs as this supports the understanding of how an individual’s developmental trauma can impact their social, emotional, cognitive, and relational development.
