Louise Taylor - Chair
Louise is a physiotherapist and partner at Movement Sports Clinic. She has a primary interest in helping keep all Calgarians moving well and staying active. A passionate runner and triathlete, Louise is pleased to assist the Calgary Marathon Society in enriching lives through running.
Paul Chiswell - Vice Chair
Paul is a commercial litigator and partner with the Calgary law firm of Burnet, Duckworth & Palmer LLP. He is a recovering triathlete, but remains an avid cyclist, runner, and occasional marathoner.
Melissa Paauwe - Treasurer
Melissa Paauwe is a CPA, CGA and competitive runner, but her true passion is helping other people become better, faster, stronger, more confident runners. Melissa recently quit her day job as a full time Accountant to run her coaching business, We Run the World Coaching, and hasn’t looked back. She loves giving back to the run community and joining the Run Calgary board is another way she can do this.
Arielle Fitzgerald - Secretary
Arielle is an avid runner and obstacle course racer who has competed in a wide range of endurance events both locally and internationally. After years of experiencing first hand the power the running community can have on one's life, she believes there is a place and 'pace' for everyone! Arielle is excited to help the Run Calgary team continue to innovate and strengthen their mission of enriching lives through diverse, fun and inclusive fitness experiences.
Shari Macdonald - Member at Large
Shari Macdonald is a co-owner and physical therapist at the Running Injury Clinic. She has been working in private practice for over 17 years specializing in sport and running related injuries. For the past several years, she has been a member of Sport Physiotherapy Canada board and Sport Physiotherapy Alberta executive. She is excited to bring her passion for living a healthy and active lifestyle to the Calgary Marathon Society.
Nancy Farries - Member at Large
Nancy has spent her career at the YMCA and currently works with YMCAs across Western Canada as VP of the Regional Development Centre. Purpose focused and passionate about leadership development, Nancy is excited to be engaged for the mission of Run Calgary. Nancy is a dedicated trail runner and feels very fortunate to have access to great spaces in and around Calgary.
Neil Barss - Member at Large
Neil is a municipal lawyer at the City of Calgary. In his off-time, he is an avid runner who can often be found out on the river trails. As a legally blind person, Neil finds independence in running and has successfully completed three marathons and one ultra-marathon. To him, the longer the distance the better. He is excited to bring his love of running and his perspective on accessibility to the Run Calgary Board.
Justin Petkau - Member at Large
Justin Petkau is a Senior Manager with Accenture in Calgary where he is a leader in their Supply Chain & Operations practice. Outside of a busy management consulting life, Justin is an accomplished road runner, and is heavily involved in the ultra-marathon community. Prior to joining the Run Calgary Board of Directors in 2022, Justin has been a longtime member of the Calgary Marathon Organizing Committee where he has played an active role in the execution of the marathon race weekend. Through his ties to the running community and involvement in Run Calgary, Justin seeks to promote inclusiveness and diversity in ensuring everyone has the ability to be physically active, and to participate in Run Calgary events.
Chet Anand - Member at Large
Chet is an engineer working for the energy sector. Being a sports addict he can't get enough of tennis, golf, cycling etc. But it's running that transformed his life. Having picked running few years ago, he has completed several marathons and ultra marathons - locally and overseas. One of his favourite race was running from one temple remains to other through rural Cambodia and finally finishing at Angkor Wat. But his biggest achievement is seeing a similar passion for running develop in his two boys. Chet is excited to be part of Calgary Marathon Society and give back to the sport he loves.
Meredith Conrod - Member at Large
Meredith is a Professional Engineer working in Business Development with Keyera. After more than a decade of participating in road races and local trail races, she is thrilled to be giving back to Calgary’s running community through the Run Calgary board.
