Calgary Kids Race

It is never too early to introduce children to an active lifestyle. This event is fun and gets kids excited about running while facilitating healthy family time. The Wee Wild Ones Kids Race takes place on Saturday, alongside our other family-friendly races and activities including the Wee Wild Ones Diaper Dash and 5 km run/walk.
It will be the highlight of their year. And yours.
Calgary Kids Run Overview
Designed for children ages 2-12, the Kids Race is the perfect introduction to race day - building confidence, creating lasting memories, and sparking a lifelong love of movement. With a t-shirt and finisher medal included, it’s a fun, family-friendly way to experience the energy of race weekend together.

No strollers are allowed in the Kids Race.
All participants in each race must be registered. For kids that want to participate in both the Kids Race and the 5 km event (not in a stroller), registration for both events is required; however, our discounted youth pricing will still apply to both events.
One parent/guardian can join their child if required. We recommend children ages 8-12 run without a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian running with their child does not need to register. For each kids race registration you will receive 2 bibs - one for the child and one for the parent/guardian to run with the child or to retrieve the child from the finishing corral at the end of the race. Children will receive a t-shirt and medal with their registration.
START CORRALS
The start time and distance your child will run correlates to the age group they are placed in. The youngest age group will run the shortest out-and-back distance (400m), then the distance will be increased for each consecutive age group, with the oldest participants running the furthest distance.
Each wave will be complete before the next wave starts, this allows parents/guardians to join their children in multiple waves if needed.
We recommend children in waves 4 and 5 run on their own without a parent/guardian.

KILOMETRE TRACKER
Download and print the Wee Wild Ones Kids Race Tracker, and get the family together to walk/jog/run 1 kilometre a day leading up to your race. Colour in a circle on the tracker each time you complete a kilometre.
Keep track of each run or walk and see how many kilometres you have completed by Race Day!
On race day, celebrate their accomplishments (just like the real marathoners!) when your little runner does their final run. See them smile when they get wear their Kids Race t-shirt, receive a medal at the finish line, and have some of their favourite Calgary mascots are cheering them on!
